The Red Baron's Next Destination: A Theatre Near You

Los Angeles, CA February 17, 2009- monterey media inc. is pleased to announce the theatrical launch of The Red Baron, an action-packed adventure written and directed by Nikolai Muellerschoen from Niama-Film Productions. Top notch visual effect artists, whose portfolio ranges from Star Wars, The Matrix, and Harry Potter to recent crowd-pleasers Ninja Assassin and 2012, worked to realistically depict The Red Baron's daring flight sequences and aerial battles at Pixomondo Studios in Ludwigsburg. Filmed in English, this production ranks among the most elaborate and costly in the history of German film. Lauded for the choreography and technical design of the film's astounding combat sequences, The Red Baron draws high praise for its illustration of Germany's most famous flying ace.

"The Red Baron is an impressive heroic epic with striking visual effects and spectacular action sequences."
- Roland Emmerich (Director 2012 & Independence Day)
In Canada, monterey media will release the film in conjunction with Video Service Corp. of Toronto. "We've had a fruitful partnership with monterey media and we're excited to expand it into theatres."says the founder of VSC, Jonathan Gross.

“Fascinating...Breathtaking.”
- Channel 4

Featuring Matthias Schweighöfer (Valkyrie), Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare in Love, ABC's "FlashForward" ), Lena Headey (300, "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles") and Til Schweiger (Inglourious Basterds), The Red Baron takes you soaring through the skies of WWI Europe circa 1916. Baron Manfred von Richthofen is, at the age of just 24, the crack pilot of the German aerial combat forces - a legend in his own time, a hero at home and a man both feared and respected by the enemy. Von Richthofen and his fellow officers see their duels in the sky as tactical, almost sportsmanlike, challenges that, at least at first, obscure their view of the horrors of the battlefields below.

“Thrilling” – SkyMovies

“Luscious flying action, some drama and a touch of romance.” – Widescreen Vision

For millions of his countrymen, he becomes an idol, a symbol of hope and pride. But the German high command increasingly misuses him for propaganda purposes - until the young pilot falls in love with a beautiful and resolute nurse who opens his eyes and von Richthofen finally becomes aware of his role in a senseless and barbarous war. Despite the heavy losses in his squadron and torn between his disgust for the war and his responsibility to his fighter wing, von Richthofen cannot stop flying. Even for this living legend, each new combat mission could be his last...

The Red Baron's DVD release is scheduled for June 1st, just in time for Father's Day.
